As part of the Highland Archive Service, the Lochaber Archive Centre at Fort William is responsible for locating, preserving and making accessible documents relating to all aspects of Highland history. The Lochaber Archive Centre collects and preserves archives relating to Lochaber, dating from the 17th century to the present.
Lochaber Archive Centre is open on Fridays between 10am and 5pm. (Closed for lunch between 1pm and 2pm).
Lochaber Archive Centre will be temporarily closed after Friday 4th May as we move to new premises at Alexander Ross House, Achintore Road, Fort William. Whilst we are closed we will be unable to provide any access to records or deal with enquiries. We will re-open late summer 2018.
