The High Life Highland Countryside Ranger Service offers a range of conservation volunteering and leadership opportunities. As a not-for-profit service, we’re committed to creating space for nature to thrive—and we’d love you to join us.
Conservation volunteering
Want to make a difference in your community? Join one of our working party events to help restore habitats and support wildlife. From beach cleans to invasive species removal, these hands-on days are rewarding, sociable, and all PPE is provided.
We also support communities to:
- Set up local nature restoration groups
- Create and maintain habitats to boost biodiversity
- Record species sightings for the biological record
Prefer something flexible? Take part in species monitoring on your local walks and submit your records online—helping us track plant and invertebrate ranges while deepening your connection with nature.
Young Green Leadership
Building on our SCQF-accredited Choose To Lead awards (Level 4 & 5), we’re expanding into environmental and conservation leadership with the Green Leader Award.
If you’re aged 12–25, this programme offers:
- Leadership experience in schools and communities
- Skills for future education and employment
- Support from dedicated High Life Highland mentors
