Countryside Rangers

Welcome to the High Life Highland Countryside Ranger Service

The High Life Highland Countryside Ranger Service exists to connect people with the nature, wildlife, and heritage of the Scottish Highlands. Through activities, interpretation, events and community projects, our Rangers inspire people of all ages to explore, understand, and care for the natural world. They promote responsible access, help visitors enjoy the outdoors safely and respectfully, and work with schools, families, and community groups to build skills, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation of the environment.

Explore. Learn. Protect.

At the same time, our Rangers are dedicated stewards of the land, monitoring wildlife, restoring habitats, supporting conservation projects, and maintaining countryside sites and paths across the region. Working alongside volunteers and local communities, they respond to the biodiversity challenges the Highlands face and help nurture healthier, more resilient ecosystems. Their daily efforts not only protect nature today but help ensure the Highlands remain vibrant, wild, and thriving for generations to come.
