Stay active, manage diabetes
High Life Highland offers a programme designed to support people living with or at risk of Type 2 diabetes. Regular physical activity can help control blood sugar, improve fitness, aid weight management, and boost overall wellbeing.
The Living With Type 2 Diabetes programme combines education and exercise to help you manage your condition confidently. Sessions include strength and cardio training alongside practical advice on:
- What diabetes is
- Benefits of exercise
- Long-term effects of diabetes
- Nutritional guidance
- Facility use and gym inductions
Led by experienced instructors, the programme provides a safe, supportive environment where exercises are tailored to your ability and goals.
Programme details
- Five-week course
- One session per week (90 minutes)
- Includes gym tour and induction
- Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions
After completing the programme, you can progress to our weekly Exercising With Type 2 Diabetes class for ongoing support.

Living with type 2 diabetes classes are currently available at Inverness Leisure and can be booked via the link at the bottom of the page. We also have an upcoming block of classes on the following dates which will be available to book soon.
