Hidden by Lucy Woodley, a sculpture of metal and wood made in 2022

Hidden by Lucy Woodley, mixed media, 2022, from Shared Perspectives exhibition

The art galleries host a year-round programme of temporary exhibitions and events.  The Exhibitions team manage and deliver the programme.

The programme provides a broad scope of events and exhibitions to inspire different interests.  It covers a wide variety of themes and subjects, from modern to historic. And a wide range of media, from paintings and sculptures to films and installations.  We feature work by local, national and international artists and craft makers, and regularly highlight new work by contemporary Scottish artists.  Often the artworks are for sale, giving visitors an opportunity to buy something unique.

There are two art galleries at IMAG.  Both the larger Main Gallery and the Small Gallery are found on the first floor, along with the Foyer Gallery which usually displays contemporary crafts.  Our What’s On page lists the current exhibitions for each space.
