How to get here

The Highland Folk Museum is situated in the Cairngorm National Park, just 16miles from Aviemore. The Museum is at the north end of the village and is well signposted.

How to get here

By Car: 

From Inverness (44.2miles, approx. 55min):

Follow the A9 south from Inverness for 39miles, take the junction for Kingussie/Newtonmore onto the A86 and follow signs to Newtonmore for 5mins.

From Perth (68.2miles, approx. 80mins):

Follow the A9 north for 63miles, take the junction for Newtonmore onto the B9150 and continue for 5mins.

From Fort William (47miles, approx. 1hr):

Follow the A82 north for 10miles, at Spean Bridge take the junction right onto the A86 for Newtonmore and continue for 37miles.

By Bike: We are on the National Cycle Route 7 – you can find out more about the route on the Sustrans website. We have cycle racks available in our car park.

By Bus and Train services:
