Discover the Highland Folk Museum
Set in the heart of Badenoch, the Highland Folk Museum tells the story of everyday life in the Highlands from the 1700s to the mid‑1900s. Through historic buildings, working demonstrations, and immersive environments, we share the traditions, skills, stories and resilience of Highland communities.
Founded on the vision of Dr Isabel F. Grant in 1936, the museum has grown into one of Scotland’s most significant social history sites, offering a unique blend of heritage, landscape and lived experience.
