We welcome the arrival of the ‘St Martin’s Stone’.

We are so very excited to announce that a NEW Pictish Stone has arrived in the Museum! No photos or a date for the grand unveiling yet. First a bespoke ‘shoe’ and steel support will be installed ready to hold the 440kg stone. That is about the equivalent weight of a female Highland Cow!

We are very lucky to house such a large collection of Pictish Stones within ‘The Stones Room’ and the new ‘Ulbster 2 Stone’ will be a tremendous addition to the unique collection.
