A celebration of the Ash Tree, its beauty and importance as a material through an exhibition of contemporary furniture making and art. The Scottish Furniture Makers Association (SFMA), in partnership with Scottish Forestry and the Association of Scottish Hardwood Sawmillers, present furniture and artworks from 20 leading and emerging makers practicing in Scotland today. Made from timber from ash trees grown in Killearn, Stirlingshire, and felled due to ash die-back, Ash Rise aims to show the diversity of uses of ash as a material through new work from makers working with wood across Scotland.
