About our facilities

At High Life Highland, we aim for the highest standards of inclusivity. This page shares helpful information about our changing and showering areas so you know what to expect before you visit.

Changing Places

We are proud to be recognised by the Changing Places campaign.

Changing Places facilities differ from standard accessible toilets, offering extra features and more space to meet the needs of all customers.

Our dedicated Changing Places area includes:

  • A height-adjustable, adult-sized changing bench
  • A tracking hoist system
  • A shower
  • Adequate space for the disabled person and up to two carers
  • A centrally placed toilet with room on both sides for carers
  • A privacy screen for the disabled person and carer
  • Wide tear-off paper roll to cover the bench
  • A large waste bin for disposable pads

The Changing Places area is located between the male and female changing areas on the dry side of the facility.

Wetside Changing – Swimming Pools and Health Suite (Sauna, Steam Room, Spa)

Customer changing facilities for the pools and health suite follow a modern ‘changing village’ layout with no gender-specific areas. This setup allows users to access individual private cubicles for changing before and after bathing.

Most showering facilities on the wetside are communal and intended for a quick rinse, with swimwear remaining on. Private showers are available on request—just ask a member of our team.

Group changing rooms are also available for visiting clubs, groups, and organisations.

Lockers are located throughout the Changing Village and operate via a keypad entry system

Dryside Changing – Sports Hall, Gym, Studio, Queens Park

As the sports centre is of an older architectural design, the changing facilities are gender-specific communal layouts. Both male and female changing rooms include some private changing spaces.

Each changing room leads to its respective shower area. Male showers are communal with one private shower available, while female showers are open but include cubicles for basic privacy.

Private changing and showering facilities are available on request—please speak to a member of our team.

Lockers on the dry side are located in both changing rooms and communal areas throughout the sports centre and operate on a cash-free mechanism.

Charges for Changing & Showering

Communal changing and showering facilities are free when used alongside an activity at Inverness Leisure. Charges apply for customers wishing to use the facilities solely for changing or showering. Private showers are available at an additional cost.

We value your feedback and are always looking to improve where we can. If you’d like to share your thoughts about our facilities, please get in touch.
