2025 agus air adhart — 2025 and onwards!
One hundred and sixty-one years after the Northern Meeting Society first bought the Northern Meeting Park site, the Park started the next phase in its long life as a focal point for events and activities in Inverness.
Thanks to funding of £5.9 million from the UK Government Levelling Up Fund, the historic grandstand was refurbished, a new community pavilion was built, and an air source heat system was installed to provide heat f the grandstand and pavilion, resulting in an estimated 64% annual carbon saving.
The Park is now equipped for events and festivals for up to 4,000 people from the Highlands and beyond. It will also continue to host local sports clubs and the three local schools (Bishop Eden's, Central and St. Joseph's) who use it for their sports - and, of course, to welcome local people and visitors who want to enjoy its historic atmosphere and peaceful green space!

A’ cruinneachadh sgeulachdan na Pairce — Gathering the Park's stories
To coincide with the Levelling Up Fund investment in the Park, a community heritage interpretation project researched the Park's history and created new interpretation about the Park.
Community workshops allowed people to see the large collection of archive materials, photographs and objects relating to the Park's past. They also shared their own memories of the Park - and there were lots of these! Pop-up displays, activities in local schools, and guided walks also took place.
