We're really excited to share something we've been working hard on behind the scenes. Today, 2nd March 2026, our brand new High Life Highland website goes live – and we think you're going to love it.
Our old website had been with us for a while, and while it served its purpose, it had its limitations. We wanted to do better. So we went back to basics and built something designed around how you actually use our website – whether you're trying to book a fitness class on your lunch break, find your nearest library, or look up what's on for your kids this weekend.
Here's a look at what's new.
A website that works around you
One of our favourite new features is personalisation. Enter your postcode – you'll find it in the top left of every page – and the site will instantly show you services closest to you. Your nearest leisure centre, library, upcoming local events and more will all be tailored to your area. No more scrolling past things that aren't relevant to where you are.
The site also remembers the pages you visit most, so they'll appear near the top of your homepage on your next visit. The more you use it, the more it works for you.
Easier to use on your phone
Most of you visit our website on a mobile, so we built this one with mobile in mind from the very start. Menus, buttons and layouts have all been designed for smaller screens first, making everything cleaner, clearer and much easier to tap your way around.
We've also made big improvements to accessibility across the site – better colour contrast, clearer text, and detailed accessibility information on every venue page, including accessible parking, lifts, changing places facilities and step-free access. Every venue also includes a "Getting here" section with a map and written directions to help you plan your visit.
Find what you're looking for, faster
The new mega menu groups our services into clear categories – Fitness & Activities, Libraries & Archives, Health & Wellbeing, Communities, and more – so you can get a clear picture of everything High Life Highland offers in just a few taps.
We've also improved our search function. Try searching for a class, a venue, or even ask it a question like "when is Inverness Leisure open?" and see what comes up.
Timetables made simple
Finding and booking fitness classes is much easier now. Head to the timetable to browse upcoming classes across all our leisure centres, filter by the class you want, or visit a specific leisure centre page to see what's on that day. You can also browse all fitness classes if you're not sure what you're looking for – find something that appeals, then see which centres offer it and book from there.
You can also view swimming pool timetables, Active Schools Coordinator timetables, and health and wellbeing classes for older adults and those with health conditions.
There's so much more to explore
Beyond leisure, the new site makes it easier to discover everything we do. And if you're new to High Life Highland or thinking about getting more active, it's also a great time to explore our 7 day free trial or find out more about High Life Membership – flexible, great-value access to leisure centres, fitness classes and activities right across the Highlands.
Find out about visitor attractions like The Inverness Castle Experience, the Highland Folk Museum and Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. See what the Countryside Rangers are up to. Explore music tuition in your area. Join a library, search our online catalogue, or find your nearest Archive Centre. And keep an eye on our blog for the latest news and updates.
We hope you enjoy using the new site. If you spot anything you'd like to flag, feel free to drop us an email at website@highlifehighland.com.
