Welcome to the High Life Highland (HLH) Leadership Programme.
Our award winning Leadership Programme offers a selection of varied learning opportunities using our very own High Life Highland SCQF accredited “Choose To Lead” awards ( Level 4 & 5) and other quality training opportnities and courses from Scottish Governing Bodies for sport, Youth Work and trusted partners.
Once you commit to one of the Award Levels (see table below) you will become a member of the Leadership Programme. We pride ourselves on the quality of Young Leaders that are produced through the programme and are confident the Leadership Programme supports the development experiences of leadership in both school and community, giving valuable skills and experiences for future education and employment.
Our dedicated HLH mentors support our Young Leaders to you to take full advantage of the opportunities available throughout their leadership journey. From assisting at an Active Schools Club, volunteering at a major sporting event or shaping the future of your community through the Young Ambassadors Programme, Community Sports Hubs or Highland Youth Voice, these opportunities will enhance development as a Young Leader whilst helping to develop skills in delivering high quality activities.
The Leadership Programme is open to young people aged 12-25 years, and although underpinned by leadership in sport and youth work, the awards can be utilised by young people volunteering in clubs, facilities and schools. All members of the programme are also encouraged to sign up for Saltire Awards. These national awards are designed to formally recognise the commitment and contribution of youth volunteering.

Junior Leaders P6 & P7
|
Firstly the Junior leader Completes the HLH Junior Leadership Course and supports the delivery of 10 activity sessions. |

Navy Blue
|
This level is for those who complete 25 hours of sport or activity leadership. |

Purple
|
Complete the Sports Leaders UK Go Lead, I Can Lead, or Women, Get Set, Go! Award in Leadership or Involvement Training in Youth Leadership. An additional 25 hours leadership time is required. |

Green
|
Complete Level 1 Award in Sports or Dance Leadership, Introduction to Youth Work Module or equivalent. An additional 25 hours leadership time is required. |

Red
|
Complete Level 2 Award in Sport or Dance Leadership or module in Youth Work. An additional 25 hours leadership time is required. |
|
Grey
|
Complete the Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership or PDA in Youth Work and an additional 25 hours leadership time. |
