The Heartstone Odyssey is a fictional adventure of mystery and suspense; interwoven with issues of prejudice and intolerance. The first Heartstone Story Circle in the Highlands started at Dingwall Library in February 2019. A Story Circle is a group that comes together to read the Heartstone Odyssey. Young people from Obsdale Primary School and Dingwall Academy have met weekly at Dingwall Library.
The Story Circle begins each week with a reading from the book and discussion on raised issues – prejudice, belonging, identity, and empathy. The young people have invited participation from others in the Story Circle, including people of other nationalities resident in Highland and those working with refugees.
The Heartstone Story Circle model will be delivered in a number of High Life Highland Libraries in 2019 – 2020, and we are pleased to be showcasing this work in the museum. #InvMAG #HeartstoneOdyssey
