Laura Cunningham grows twenty different varieties of willow on her croft in Skye from which she weaves baskets and other mostly functional or occasionally decorative items. For her it is the process which is rewarding, from planting willow beds from cuttings in winter to tending the beds and harvesting the rods the following mid-winter before the lengthy procedures of preparing the rods and weaving them into beautiful baskets begins.
