This inviting show comprises black and white portraits of a selection of community members from Wester Ross, accompanied by their favourite views, also in black and white. These captivating portraits present individual characters not only through the photograph of the person, but through the context of the environment in which they are comfortable; be it their place of work, the garden that they tend or their favourite room.
The landscapes are an unbiased record of our scenery; simplified by the removal of colour and without any digital removal of buildings, telegraph poles and the like.
Photographer Adrian Hollister runs a uniquely well-equipped photography studio (the Image Studio) in Mellon Charles, Wester Ross. He has joined forces with Mark Appleton, a local graphic designer and professional landscape photographer, to produce this exhibition.
Join the photographers and some of their subjects at our Exhibition Opening from 1pm – 2 pm on Saturday 23 January to find out more about what has inspired their creations. Light refreshments will be served.
