Admission
There is no admission fee, however, we encourage donations to help us improve and grow – Gift Aid forms are available for UK visitors.

Face-coverings
Face-coverings are recommended at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.

Access
Inverness Museum and Art Gallery is spread across three floors.  There is a passenger lift available for visitors to access all exhibition and gallery spaces, the gift shop and the cafe.  All public areas are wheelchair accessible.

Parking
Inverness Museum and Art Gallery has a private disabled parking bay at the entrance.  This space is available to visitors of the museum on a first come first served basis.  There is also a Highland Council Blue Badge disabled parking bay available, with a time restriction of 3 hours.

There is enough space at the entrance to drop off visitors, and for visitors coming by coach, there is space outside the Inverness Town House that can be used as a drop off point.

There is no other parking at the museum.  There is paid on-street car parking available at Castle Street, and three car parks in walking distance- Rose Street Multi-storey Car Park, Eastgate Shopping Centre Car Park and Inverness Cathedral Car Park.

From the Inverness Railway Station (1 mile, 5 minute walk)
Exit from the main entrance onto Station Square.  Walk past the Royal Highland Hotel on the left, and towards Academy Street.  Cross at the pedestrian crossing and walk straight down Union Street to the Mercure Hotel.  Turn left at the Mercure Hotel and traverse down Church Street until it meets Bridge Street.  Cross at the pedestrian crossing towards the Bella Italia restaurant.  Take the street to the left of restaurant- Castle Wynd.  (This road is situated in between the Bella Italia restaurant and Inverness Town House).  Walk up Castle Wynd hill until reaching a flight of concrete steps.  The public toilets are situated to the left.  Do not alight the steps towards the castle, instead take a quarter turn to the right.  Inverness Museum and Art Gallery is situated on the corner, the entrance will be visible from here.  There is also a large sign providing directions at the concrete steps.

From the Inverness Bus Station (1 mile, 5 minute walk)
Exit the bus station via Margaret Street.  At the end of Margaret Street, turn left onto Academy Street.  Traverse down Academy Street until reaching the Inverness Railway Station (Station Square).  From here, follow directions from Inverness Railway Station, detailed above.

Left Luggage
We are unable to offer a Left Luggage service.  There is a Left Luggage service available at Inverness Railway Station.

Dogs
Assistance/service dogs are welcome at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, however, due to collections care policies and because food is prepared on site, we are sadly unable to admit family pets.
