Spoonful

A Celebration of the Humble Spoon

Image: © Ewen Weatherspoon on behalf of Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, High Life Highland

This exhibition is based on the simple but universal utensil of the spoon, an implement which crosses cultures, race, gender, ritual, symbolism and social hierarchies and has a long tradition of craftmaking.  Spoonful brings together a wide range of spoons from both Inverness Museum and the Highland Folk Museum, alongside new commissions from contemporary craftmakers – Stuart Cairns, Helena Emmans, Caroline Lingwood and Gabi Veit.

Spoonful is supported by Museums Galleries Scotland.
