National Museums Scotland Curator Dr Stuart Allan and Project Coordinator Jo Sohn-Rethel will present this behind the scenes insight into the Next of Kin touring exhibition, opening at Inverne
ss Museum and Art Gallery on 17 November. Through discussion of some of the family stories featured in the display, this lecture will explore the origins of this national project, and consider the impact and legacy of the First World War across Scotland.
Jo Sohn-Rethel is Coordinator of the Next of Kin project at National Museums Scotland and also works as Development Manager at the Heritage Lottery Fund Scotland. Prior to these roles he worked on exhibitions at the National Army Museum, Science Museum and National Media Museum.
Dr Stuart Allan is Principal Curator of Scottish Late Modern collections at National Museums Scotland, and developed the concept and content of the Next of Kin exhibition with Jo. He is a military historian who has published widely on aspects of the Scottish military tradition.
