High Life Highland is delighted to celebrate Wellness Month with a special literary event at Dingwall Community Library.
Suzanne Parsons, author and Library Assistant based in Lochcarron, will be touching down at the library on Tuesday 23 September at 6:30pm to discuss her debut novel, ‘Secrets in the Sky’.
Set during the First World War, ‘Secrets in the Sky’ is a thrilling aviation adventure that blends historical detail with romance, offering a unique perspective on wartime experiences – not from the trenches, but from the skies above. Suzanne shares the inspiration behind her story:
“Back when I was a teenager, I had a fascinating conversation with an elderly lady whose fiancé was an airman of the Great War. Many years later, I made it my mission to find out exactly what went on in the air back then and discover who these people were and what drove them to take to the sky in such skeletal deathtraps.
“I believe Leonardo da Vinci’s quote about the pursuit of flight sums things up perfectly – ‘when once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward’.”
Fiona Presly, Network Librarian for High Life Highland, said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming Suzanne, our Library Assistant from Lochcarron, to Dingwall Library, where she’ll share her passion for the aeronautical history of the Great War. Her research has been extensive and culminated in a compelling book that we are sure will enthuse, inform and engage everyone who attends the event.”
