New era for Strathpeffer Pavilion

Changes are underway at the historic Strathpeffer Pavilion, with the Strathpeffer Pavilion Community Trust (SPCT) set to take over the day to day running of the much-loved establishment from High Life Highland.

High Life Highland has operated the building since 2017 and has been working in partnership with the SPCT, under a subcontracted management agreement, since 2020. At that time, SPCT secured funding that enabled the community to take full ownership of this unique asset.

After eight years of operating the venue, the SPCT now feels the time is right for it to take over the complete management of the building from High Life Highland, with the official handover taking place on 31st March 2026, marking a new era for the Strathpeffer Pavilion.

Graeme Ross, Head of Leisure from High Life Highland said: “High Life Highland is privileged to have been involved in the management of such an historic venue as the Strathpeffer Pavilion for the last eight years. Our teams have worked hard to enhance the venue’s reputation as an iconic location for weddings, functions and concerts – with many big acts and sell-out crowds witnessed during that time.

“However, we always understood this was never High Life Highland’s venue and we were helping to look after it for the Trust – it was always the understanding that at some point, they would take over operations and build on that success. That day has now come.

“High Life Highland is handing over a healthy order book to the Trust and we wish it and the wider community every success for the future.”

A spokesperson for Strathpeffer Pavilion Community Trust said: “The five year partnership with High Life Highland has seen us jointly develop Strathpeffer Pavilion into a well respected music, community and wedding events venue.  Now, after careful consideration, SPCT feels it is time to take direct control of the Pavilion’s operations, placing the community firmly at the helm as the venue enters a new, community-led era.

“SPCT would like to place on record its sincere thanks to High Life Highland for the commitment, professionalism, and care shown in operating the Pavilion on behalf of the Trust and the community. This contribution has helped stabilise and strengthen the venue during a crucial period in its history and has allowed time for SPCT to develop and be fully confident to now take this next important step.”

All current bookings for the Pavilion remain in place and both parties are fully focused on a smooth transition from High Life Highland to the Trust.
