Welcome to the first in our series of wellness blogs! We’ll be bringing you a variety of musings from across the charity over the course of Wellness Month – enjoy! 🙂
By Julie Corcoran, Head of Libraries at High Life Highland
Did you know that visiting your local library can be great for your health and wellbeing? Whether it’s chilling out with a great book, learning a new skill, or meeting new people. High Life Highland’s library service has a wide range of resources and activities, providing something for everyone looking to enhance the physical, mental and social wellbeing!
We offer activities for wee ones from the earliest of ages including Baby Massage sessions, Bookbug sessions, and Parent & Toddler groups. Our Lego Clubs, Nature Clubs and Games Workshops offer school aged children the opportunity to meet new friends or simply chill out at the end of the school day.
For our adult customers, join us for a bit of competitive fun at Scrabble Club or our Dungeons & Dragons workshops! Challenge yourself to learn a new language at our French, Spanish and Gaelic Conversational Classes. Or simply come along for a good chinwag at our Knit n Natter and craft clubs.
Why not pop along to your local library and see what they have to offer? Or view your local libraries Facebook pages. In the meantime, check out some of our special highlights happening in September to celebrate Wellness Month:
