Highland Coaching Awards

The Highland Coaching Awards, organised by High Life Highland in partnership withsportscotland, provide the perfect opportunity to thank coaches for their dedication and acknowledge their achievements over the past year.  This is your chance to nominate your local coaching hero to recognise what they have accomplished and celebrate the fantastic work being done in the sports coaching industry in the Highlands.

The Highland categories are:

  • Young coach
  • Young person’s coach
  • Community coach
  • Development coach
  • Performance coach
  • Disability coach

Winners from the Highland Coaching Awards will be presented with their trophy at their club along with some local press coverage.  Coaches will also have the chance to be entered into thesportscotland Coaching, Volunteering and Officiating Awards 2014 (National Awards) by simply ticking a box so the application will be entered into both Highland and National Awards. sportscotland is Scotland’s national agency for sport and is committed to recognising coaches across the country for their achievements.

Last year’s Highland winners were:

  • Young Persons Coach – William Beavis (Judo, Invergordon)
  • Development Coach – Amanda Clinton (Ice Skating, Inverness)
  • Performance Coach – Sophie Dunnett (Athletics, Thurso)
  • Community Coach – David Murray (Sailing, Lochcarron)
  • Disability Coach – Liz MacLeod (Disability Sport, Thurso)
  • Young Coach – Ben Yoxon (Football, Broadford)

  • The National Awards close on Friday 29th August 2014.
  • The Highland Coaching Awards close on Friday 3rd October 2014.
