People are invited to join the High Life Highland’s Countryside Rangers tomorrow (Wednesday, May 18) to help protect butterflies.

You can join the rangers between 2pm and 3.30pm to help clear back vegetation around the glades where rare butterflies, the small blue and the dingy skipper, spend most of their lives.

Tools and gloves will be provided but please wear long trousers and long-sleeved tops.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Meet at the Ardersier Common car park just after the village on the way to Fort George.

Volunteers will also be able to learn how the rangers are working with the Butterfly Conservation Trust and other charities to help rescue species on the edge.

No booking required, just turn up at the car park
