This Community Sport Hub is based at Kingussie High School and the Badenoch Centre. The project supports the school, local clubs and organisations to develop opportunities for the whole community to get involved in sport & physical activity. Initially, it will focus on school sport activity and clubs based within Kingussie, Kincraig and Newtonmore and the user groups of the Badenoch Centre.
Badenoch Community Sport Hub has been developed in partnership with Kingussie High School, High Life Highland and several community clubs/organisations. The group works together to provide:
- A cohesive network of support for clubs, coaches & volunteers involved in sport
- Opportunities for everyone to get involved with local sport and physical activity in the community
- Effective pathways between schools and clubs, allowing young people to reach their potential as athletes, leaders and coaches
- A platform for clubs to share ideas & resources to help promote their sport to the local community.
The Badenoch Community Sport Hub has a strong focus on developing the people involved in sport and works closely with local schools to ensure that pupils get the opportunity to take part in sport & physical activity. Opportunities to link with other community groups and the wider health agenda are also being explored.
