Get The Habit Of A lifetime

A major health and fitness initiative has started across High Life Highland Leisure Centres and Inverness Leisure. Commit To Change sponsored by the Kingsmills Hotel, encourages participants to ‘get the habit of a lifetime’ by taking part in a six week challenge

Health MOTs were available prior to the start of the challenge for those interested in checking their current fitness levels and body measurements. Reviews will be available during the challenge and at the end to allow people to gauge the difference of being more physically active.

Research suggests that habits are formed or broken in a minimum of 21 days – the Commit to Change campaign aims to encourage adults to take a fresh look at their existing habits and strive to build a health and fitness focus into their lifestyle by taking part in at least 2.5 hours of physical activity each week.

Each leisure centre offers a range of classes for all abilities, ranging from Zumba and Body Pump to aqua-aerobics, gentle exercise sessions and circuits. When taking part in classes, activities or exercise at their local leisure centre each participant will be awarded 10 points. At the end of the 6 weeks anyone who has accumulated 300 points will be eligible to swap the points for discounts on spa treatments at ‘Kingsclub’ and Spa @ Kingsmills Hotel and will also be entered into a grand prize draw with a luxury weekend for two at the Kingsmills Hotel.
