New strength and conditioning suite for Lochaber Leisure Centre 

A new strength and conditioning suite will be opening at Lochaber Leisure Centre next week. 

The new High Life Highland facility, which boasts rigs and racks to suit athletes and gym-goers alike, will be open to customers for inductions on Monday, April 25 

Installation of the new BLK Box equipment will take place through to April 24. 

New equipment includes compact full racks, various barbells and weight plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, sandbags, TRX bands, plyo boxes as well as a SkiErg and an assault bike. 

Lochaber Leisure Centre manager Gary Davidson said: “We can’t wait to welcome customers to our new strength and conditioning suite which offers the very latest equipment.  

“This gives us the opportunity to increase our personal training, run small group fitness classes and weightlifting classes.” 

There will be lots of opportunities in the first couple of weeks for customers to book in for an induction or one of our programs. 

  • Ladies Who Lift – encouraging more female participation, this class promotes strength, tone and power. 
  • Intro to strength training – an opportunity for customers to try weightlifting designed to improve strength and endurance.  
  • Weigh to Go – circuit based workout that will help tone your body and shed fat as well as improving your fitness and endurance. 
  • Love to Train – small group exercise class which provide customers an opportunity to work out in a supportive environment to achieve personal fitness goals and objectives whilst been coached by qualified Instructors.   

In addition, the strength and conditioning suite will be open for general use outside of specific classes if the participant has received an induction to the area.

The new addition adds to Lochaber Leisure Centre’s fitness room which includes 33 Technogym cardiovascular stations, 18 resistance stations and an extensive free weights area.  

The facility also includes a swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, squash court, and fitness classes including body pump and indoor cycling.
