New strength and conditioning suite for Invergordon Leisure Centre

A new strength and conditioning suite will be opening at Invergordon Leisure Centre next week.

The new High Life Highland facility, which boasts rigs and racks to suit athletes and gym-goers alike, will be open to members for inductions on April 28.

Installation of the new BLK Box equipment will take place from April 23-27.

New equipment includes compact full racks, various barbells and weight plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, sand bags, TRX bands, plyo boxes as well a SkiErg and an assault bike.

Invergordon Leisure Centre manager Catriona Fraser said: “We can’t wait to welcome people to our new strength and conditioning suite which offers our visitors the very latest equipment.

“This gives us the opportunity to increase our personal training programme, run small group fitness classes and weightlifting classes.”

In the first few weeks the focus will be on inductions with options for programmed six-week blocks for Introduction to Strength training.

In future weeks there will be further opportunities for programmed sessions including:

  • Love to Train- Small group exercise group which provide customers an opportunity to work out in a supportive environment to achieve personal fitness goals and objectives whilst been coached by qualified Instructors
  • Ladies Who Lift – encouraging more female participation, this class promotes strength, tone and power.
  • Teen Gym – encouraging teenagers to participate in weightlifting and learn the importance of good technique, form and control.

In addition, the suite will be open for general use outside of specific classes.

The new addition adds to Invergordon Leisure Centre’s fitness suite which includes treadmills, varios, rowers and bikes along with resistance stations.

The facility also includes a swimming pool, sports hall, and fitness classes including body balance, indoor cycling, body pump, and Zumba.
