High Life Highland Vice Chair Michael Golding is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Board members to the organisation’s main charity Board, Roddy Henry and Kerry Ross.
The charity’s Board provides extensive experience of public, private and development agency backgrounds which is a perfect complement for the scope of High Life Highland’s work.
The High Life Highland Board consists of four elected members from The Highland Council and eight independent Directors, who each bring skills relevant for the charity governance. As directors of one of the largest charities in the Highlands, the Board members are responsible for leading the strategic direction of the organisation and meet several times a year.
High Life Highland is a charity registered in Scotland, formed in October 2011 by The Highland Council and the charity strives to make life better.
Roddy Henry has over 25 years experience in Scotland’s education sector. Black Isle resident Roddy is currently Principal and Chief Executive of a specialist adult education college in Midlothian. Previously he was Depute Principal of Inverness College UHI, working closely with a range of organisations across Highland.
Roddy Henry said, “Working in colleges, and as part of UHI, my focus has always been on designing and delivering high-quality services to meet the needs of the people and communities that the organisation serves. I hope the skills and attributes I have gained in my working life and other voluntary roles will benefit High Life Highland. I am keen to contribute further to Highland communities through my role as a non-executive director with the charity.
Kerry Ross has recently returned to the Highland area and has worked in the third sector for over ten years, most recently as Director of Finance and Resources for a UK charity.
Kerry Ross said, “I was keen to see how I could put my experience to work for other organisations in the third sector. I’ve been a member of HLH for almost 10 years now and whilst I have only engaged on a customer level, I have always been impressed with the organisation.
I am really looking forward to working with the Executive team and my fellow board members, and hope that I am able to bring some of own expertise to the table at an extremely challenging time for publicly funded and supported organisations.”
Michael Golding, Vice Chair of the High Life Highland Board said, “We warmly welcome Kerry and Roddy to the High Life Highland Board and look forward to their contributions to the charity’s strategy and governance going forward. I know that the skills and experience they each bring to the table will be a great asset to the charity.”
