Alness Leisure Centre sets date for opening

High Life Highland has announced its new timetables and opening hours for Alness Leisure Centre which is due to open its doors to the public for the first time on Monday 26th April. The Centre will be open Monday’s and Thursday’s 6.30am-7.25am, Monday’s and Tuesday’s 4.00pm-8.15pm and Saturday’s 10am – 12.30pm.

The leisure centre which is part of the new Alness Academy complex was originally due to open in January 2021 but has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The new facility includes a brand-new 25 m swimming pool with six lanes and a moveable floor and will be made available for swimming lessons.

There is also a 4 courted games hall with bleacher seating and a smaller gymnasium which, post covid, will be used for group fitness classes as well as being available to hire out for clubs and groups.

The new venue replaces Alness Pool and will be open to the public seven days a week out with school hours for public use. Actual hours will be updated through social media channels.
