Planning Permission for Nuclear Archive

Planning permission has now been granted for the new Nuclear Archive to be built at Wick, Caithness. Work on construction will start this summer, and the building is due to be completed by the end of 2016.

The archive will house more than 70 years’ worth of historic information from across UK’s civil nuclear industry, including up to 30 million digital records.

The Caithness Archive Centre will relocate from our existing accommodation in the Carnegie Library to the new facility when it opens in late 2016.
