Researching Your World War 1 Ancestors

The Skye and Lochalsh Archive Centre is running another 2 week block of classes – Researching Your WW1 Ancestors – as part of High Life Highland’s You Time programme.  This is the same class that we ran in November 2016.

Classes will be held at the Archive Centre in Portree from 10:30-12:30 on Wednesday 22 February and Wednesday 1 March.  The cost for the 2 week block is £11 (full price), £5.50 (60 years+), £1 (budget High Life card holders) or free (High Life All Inclusive members).

Week 1 – Wed 22 February

10:30-12:30, Skye & Lochalsh Archive Centre

The first session will be presented by Graham Ross, author of the Roll of Honour for Skye and Lochalsh. Graham will introduce some of the sources he used while compiling his work on local World War 1 casualties.

Week 2 – Wed 1 March

10:30-12:30, Skye & Lochalsh Archive Centre

Archive staff will examine further source material available for researching your World War 1 ancestors, including material on those who survived the war.
