Opening Day at Nucleus: The Nuclear and Caithness Archives

No sooner had the doors opened at Nucleus, on the 14th February 2017, than our first depositor arrived, followed shortly after by our first readers. We welcomed over 35 people through our doors during the course of the day and we were delighted that everyone was enjoying reading documents in the new surroundings.

Nucleus_first_depositorOur first depositor was John Scobbie from Newton Park Primary School who handed in a collection of school log books, attendance registers and photographs for South School and Pultney Academy from 1970s – 1990s. Helping him to bring in the collection was our Assistant Operations Manager Stewart Munro.

We look forward to welcoming many more readers over the coming weeks, months and years. If you’ve never visited an archive before, now’s the prefect time. You can enjoy carrying out your research in state-of-the-art surroundings.

Please note that as at today’s date (15th February 2017) the telephone connection is not operational at Nucleus. If you’d like to get in touch with us, please email [email protected] or contact us via our Facebook page.
