Christine Wood, Archivist at the Highland Archive Centre in Inverness, gave a evening talk on Tuesday 10th January 2017 to members of the Lochaber and North Argyll Family History Group in Fort William. Ten members enjoyed a presentation on the many kinds of archive resources available for consultation at the Lochaber Archive Centre which is located at the West Highland College, An Aird. Some of the many items you can request to look at at the archive centre include school log books, admission registers, valuation rolls, police records and documents from private deposits, including photographs.
Due to a staff shortage Lochaber Archive Centre is now open on Fridays only between 10am and 5pm. (Closed for lunch between 1pm and 2pm). If you would like to visit the archive on a Friday to access any of the collections please contact us via email on [email protected] or telephone 01463 256444.
