Transitions: Celts Reflections

cait18Tuesday 24 May – Saturday 2 July 2016, Community Gallery and Room to Discover

Created by community curators from Birchwood Highland, together with IMAG, poet John Glenday and artist Eleanor White this exhibition of new artworks, creative writing and photography has been created as a response to the themes inspired by the Reflections on Celts spotlight tour from National Museums Scotland and the British Museum (showing in IMAG from 24 May until 27 August).

These creative responses reflect the community curators’ own research into objects of Celtic Art and Identity in the collections at IMAG, the British Museum and the National Museums Scotland.  They display present day reactions to ‘big life themes from the past’, including power, transformation, conflict and community – all as relevant today as they were 2,000 years ago.

Transitions: Celts Reflections has been part funded by Birchwood Highland and the Community Self-Management Development Fund.

This split location exhibition will show in the Community Gallery and Room to Discover.  Room to Discover is sometimes used for other activities. Please call 01463 237114 before making a special visit to this exhibition.
