Highland Migrant & Refugee Advocacy (HiMRA)

We are delighted to present the Stories of Movement exhibition created by Highland Migrant and Refugee Advocacy (HiMRA) project participants.  During a workshop held at IMAG, in conjunction with staff from Eden Court Creative Learning Team, people were invited to share an object or story of movement and have their portrait taken.  The stories will be told in each participant’s first language, with English translations provided.  During the exhibition, a further workshop will extend the opportunity for others to engage with the exhibition and have their story included in the digital element as the exhibition continues to tour.

The HiMRA project aims to establish safe spaces to connect, share knowledge, and access information, supporting migrants and refugees from all backgrounds to have a vibrant voice in the Highlands.  We are proud to be supporting this important project and welcoming new audiences to the museum.  High Life Highland has a business commitment to health and wellbeing and is delighted to be working with HiMRA on this project that offers opportunities to reduce social isolation and integrate communities. #InvMAG #HiMRA #StoriesofMovement
