5 April – 13 May, Main & Small Art Galleries
As part of the Scottish Festival of Architecture 2016 IMAG are hosting a Craft Council touring exhibition which explores the relationship between making and our built environment. Presenting works by makers who are inspired by architecture and architects that are deeply connected to making. It features the work of ten creative practices: makers who are inspired by architecture and a new generation of architects that put the physical act of making at the heart of their work. Works include a piece from the Crafts Council Collection by celebrated ceramicist Edmund de Waal, willow sculptures by Laura Ellen Bacon, vibrant 3D-printed ceramics by Adam Nathaniel Furman and an entire cityscape made of wood and inspired by Grimms’ fairy tales by FleaFollyArchitects.
