Highland Archive Service is taking part in Doors Open Days 2022, Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates places and stories, new and old.
Events run across three weekends in September. See below information for each of our archive centres.
Highland Archive Centre - Inverness 3rd September 2022 (10:00-16:00)
Highland Archive Centre staff will be giving tours of the building at 11am, 1pm and 3pm (booking essential) as well as providing displays of archive material from across the centuries (no booking required).

NUCLEUS: The Nuclear & Caithness Archive 18th September 2022 (10:00-15:00)
Talks will be given throughout the day and will be held within the Community Room exploring the archives held by the Caithness Archives. A selection of these will be on display in the public search room and staff on hand to discuss the records and research.

Skye and Lochalsh Archive Centre 24th September 2022 (11:00-15:00)
Skye and Lochalsh Archive Centre will be open on Saturday 24th September when visitors will be able to see into the purpose-built strongroom, learn about the conditions in which archives are kept and see a display of material from across the centuries.
