Learning for Life with High Life Highland Adult Learning

Adult Learning offers a range of lifelong learning opportunities for adults. You can choose to brush up on your reading, writing or spelling; work on your numeracy skills for everyday life; develop your knowledge and skills for the workplace; or work towards a qualification.

We can support you to develop your skills for family life, community life and the workplace. Gain confidence, take steps towards your goals, and continue to progress in your learning.

 Qualifications in the Community

As an SQA centre, we offer a wide range of accessible and flexible accredited learning opportunities such as Core Skills, Personal and Social Development Awards, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). We also offer bespoke projects through which learners can achieve the John Muir Award. Qualifications can be achieved in a variety of ways, tailored to suit you, and undertaken at your pace. The PDA in Supporting Adult Literacies Learning at SCQF level 6 is intended for individuals who wish to assist with tutoring adults in numeracy and literacy. This qualification is delivered by High Life Highland Adult Learning in the community. It has been designed to be delivered with a learner-centred, participative and practical approach.

Recognising Achievement and Supporting Progression

We will support you to develop a learning plan that can be continually adapted and developed as you progress in your learning, with a view to supporting you to set your aspirations and achieve your learning goals.

Our learning community says:

“You opened my heart to learning” (quote from an ESOL learner)

“Interesting and interactive.”

“I enjoyed learning as part of a group where we were all able to bring our unique experiences together. The training has been relaxed but has provided me with a great foundation to become a tutor.” (SALL Learner)

“It gave me a new perspective!”
